Block Island Ferry (Interstate Navigation Company) operates year round ferry service between Pt. Judith (Galilee) and Block Island, RI and seasonal ferry service from Newport, RI.
Vessels:

Captain-The positions that are available are on the high speed ferry vessels for the 2013 summer operational season. Applicants must have experience with and possess knowledge of jet propulsion systems and operations.
Seasonal deckhands for the 2013 season. We will have seasonal positions available on the passenger/vehicle ferries and the high-speed ferry. Seasonal positions generally are from mid-May through October, and potential summer employees are required to be available for work through and during Labor Day weekend (Aug 31st-Sept. 2, 2013). Applicants must be 18 years of age, and submit to pre-employment USCG/DOT drug screening. Applicants must also be reliable, presentable and possess a good customer service attitude. Applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Applicants seeking future full time and seasonal employment are also being accepted for the following positions:
- · Captain: USCG License of 100GT Inland is required, with radar observer (unlimited) endorsement
- · Mate: USCG License of 100GT Inland is required
- · Engineer (unlicensed)
- · Deckhands

Ticket Office:
Seasonal ticket office personnel for the 2013 season. We will have seasonal positions available in the ticket offices in Point Judith and on Block Island as well as in the reservation office at Point Judith. Positions available include: office supervisors, ticket agents, reservation agents, line managers and ticket scanners. Block Island applicants should have housing.

Concessions:
Block Island Ferry Concessions is looking for friendly, energetic, reliable individuals to work
in a fast paced environment for the 2013 season. Competitive wages, plus great tips!
Requirements:
• Must be 18yrs of age.
• Able to multi-task, preparing several orders at once.
• Must submit to pre-employment USCG/DOT drug screening.
• Job requires TIPS Certification.
• Must be able to work long days, work weekends and holidays.
• Basic bartending skills are preferred but not required.
• Must have excellent communications skills with a strong work ethic and be committed to exceptional customer service.
• Must be able to work up through Labor Day weekend. Employment is available after September 2nd, 2013 if interested.
