does the ferry arrive?
The Traditional, High Speed, and Newport ferries all dock in Old Harbor,
Block Island, located in the center of town.
Where are the parking facilities?
Traditional Ferry
and
Hi-Speed Ferry: The Parking lots in
Galilee and are all individually owned and operated.
They are located both across and down the street from the ferry. The charge
for parking is anywhere from $5 to $20 per day depending on the season.
Newport Ferry:
Parking for the Newport ferry is available at Fort Adams State
Park. The cost per day for parking is $3 for RI residents and $6 for
non-residents.

How far in advance
should I arrive at the ferry?
We suggest you arrive well enough in advance so you have time to park your
car, purchase your tickets, and board the ferry. Boarding begins as early as
1 full hour prior to departure time.

T.F. Green Airport (PVD) is the closest airport to the Traditional, High
Speed, and Newport ferries.
T.F. Green Airport referred to as the Providence airport is actually located
in Warwick, RI just 45 minutes from Galilee/Point Judith and Newport.
How do I get from the
airport to the ferry?
Unfortunately at this time, there is no public transportation from T.F.
Green Airport to the ferry terminals in Point Judith or Newport. We suggest
a taxi which will cost approximately $60 or a car service.

What is the closest
train station to the ferry?
For the Traditional, High Speed, and Newport ferries the closest train
station is the Amtrak station in Kingston, RI.
The Kingston station is approximately 20 minutes from Point Judith and
approximately 35 minutes from Fort Adams in Newport.

Traditional Ferry:
Pets are permitted but must be on a leash or in a carrier at all times.
Pets are not permitted on the seats or benches inside the cabins.
Hi-Speed Ferry:
Pets are permitted in the cabin in a pet
carrier only.
Pets that are not in pet carriers must be on a leash and are required to
stay on the outside decks.
Newport Ferry: Pets
are permitted but must be on a leash or in a carrier at all times.
Pets are not permitted on the seats or benches inside the cabins.
Is there food and beverages
on board?
There are concession stands with full liquor bars on board all of our
vessels. Selections include bagels, chips, cookies, candy, hot dogs, soft
drinks, juices, bottled water and more.

Is smoking allowed on your
vessels?
Smoking is allowed on the outside passenger decks only. No smoking is
permitted on the vehicle decks or inside the cabins.
Do you have anything to
carry luggage?
Traditional Ferry:
There are luggage racks on
all of the ferries to store your carry-on luggage at no charge. If you have
more than a couple of items you can rent personal pallets from the freight
office. Pallets are available on a first come first serve basis. They are
approximately 4X4X2 and cost $7.85 each. Personal pallets are available on
the traditional ferry only and must be accompanied by the individual who
rented them. Personal pallets must be filled at least ½ hour prior to
departure time. We recommend arriving 1 full hour in advance for a personal
pallet.
Hi-Speed Ferry: You
may carry your belongings to the vessel and the crew will help you load it
on the ferry.
Newport Ferry:
You may carry your own belongings on the ferry.

What information do I
need to ship something?
There are no reservations for freight it is a first come first serve basis.
All shipments must have the following: A bill of lading/receipt with the
full name of recipient and contact phone number along with the full name of
the shipper and the contact phone number. All packages must also be labeled
with the recipient’s name and contact phone number.

Are the ferries handicap
accessible?
Traditional Ferry:
All of our vessels will accommodate wheel chairs on the bottom decks. The
M/V Block Island has a wheel chair lift to the inside cabin. We recommend
arriving 1 hour in advance if you will need the wheel chair lift. Please
call the car reservations office at 866-783-7996 to confirm departure
times for the M/V Block Island.

Do you cancel the ferry in
bad weather?
Ferries do get canceled from time to time because of adverse sea conditions.
Please call our office at 866-783-7996 during questionable weather
(high winds or high seas) for the latest cancellations.

passengers?
Traditional Ferry: Passenger
reservations are not required for the traditional ferry. Tickets can be
purchased on the date of departure at the ticket window in Point Judith.
Tickets are also available for purchase on-line or by calling the
reservations office at 866-783-7996.
Hi-Speed Ferry: Passenger
reservations are recommended for the Hi-Speed Ferry as space is limited.
Tickets can be reserved on-line or by calling the reservations office at
866-783-7996.
Newport Ferry: Passenger
reservations are not necessary for the Newport ferry.
Passenger tickets can purchased on the ferry on the date of departure.

Yes, vehicle reservations are required in advance and must be secured with a
credit card.

the cancellation policy for vehicle reservations?
Vehicle reservation may be cancelled 7 full days prior to departure date for
a refund and you will be charged a cancellation fee of $10 in each
direction. There are no refunds for cancellations made within the 7 day
period prior to departure. To cancel your reservation you must call the
reservations office at 866-783-7996 during business hours.
Can I change an
existing vehicle reservation?
You may change your vehicle reservation 2 times up until 7 days prior to
your departure date and only one time within the 7 day period. To change
your vehicle reservation you must call the reservation office at
866-783-7996 during business hours.

Do I need a
reservation for motorcycles or mopeds?
Traditional Ferry:
We do not take reservations for motorcycles or mopeds. They are on a first
come first serve basis. We suggest you arrive at least 1 full hour prior to
departure time and check in at the car ticket window. Motorcycles and mopeds
can be accommodated on vehicle ferries only.
Hi-Speed Ferry:
Does not take motorcycles or mopeds.

through our group sales office at least 2 weeks prior to departure date.

Gift Certificates can be purchased by cash or credit at our ticket office in
Point Judith during business hours
or by sending a check in the amount of the type of tickets that you want the
gift certificate to be for.
