Interstate Navigation Company (Block Island Ferry) is currently accepting applications for positions in our Ticket Office.
 

Ticket Agents and Reservations Agents - Point Judith:

Job Description: 

  • Ticket Agents sell pedestrian and vehicle tickets. 

  • Answer telephones, providing general travel and schedule information.

  • Book vehicle reservations

  • Perform General office duties

  • Providing Quality Customer Service to our customers is our primary objective.

Job Requirements: 

  • Experience using a cash register, (making change, processing credit card transactions,
    reconciling cash drawer, etc).

  • Customer service experience a plus.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access is strongly preferred for supervisory positions.


Ticket Agents - Block Island:

Job Description: 

  • Ticket Agents sell pedestrian and vehicle tickets. 

  • Answer telephones, providing general travel and schedule information.

  • Perform General office duties

  • Providing Quality Customer Service to our customers is our primary objective.

Job Requirements: 

  • Experience using a cash register, (making change, processing credit card transactions,
    reconciling cash drawer, etc).

  • Customer service experience a plus.


The Block Island Freight department has the following positions positions available:

  • Parking Lot Attendant: Perform security screening of vehicles boarding the ferry.

  • Line Manager: Responsible for keeping the flow of pedestrian traffic moving safely and efficiently.

  • Ticket Collectors: Responsible to check, verify and collect various forms of tickets from pedestrians boarding the ferry.

  • Baggage Handlers: Responsible for helping pedestrians with their luggage.

  • Forklift Operators: Help load and unload freight from ferry.

  • Shipping and Receiving Agent:  Performs general office duties, customer service experience helpful, telephone skills, reconciling cash drawer, collects payments for
    freight shipped and received.


Line Managers:

Job Description: 

  • Keep pedestrian traffic flowing to the tickets windows.

  • Stage bicycles and luggage for easy access to the ferry.

  • Providing general travel and schedule information

  • Providing Quality Customer Service to our customers is our primary objective.    

Job Requirements: 

  • Customer service experience a plus.


The Block Island Ferry Ticket and Reservation office is a fast paced environment, requiring employees to possess a 'can do' and 'whatever it takes' attitude. 

Potential for full time yearly employment.

Interstate Navigation (Block Island Ferry) does not provide housing for employees who work on Block Island. 

** Pre-employment drug testing and criminal background checks are required for all new employees.
