DESCRIPTION:This spring race (an island favorite) takes runners over a scenic 10K course with breathtaking views of beautiful Block Island. The race includes a little bit of everything: dirt roads with stone walls and rolling pastures\, a winding track overlooking the Atlantic\, and at mile 4 racers meet “the wall”\, a steep\, double tiered\, narrow climb. DESCRIPTION:As the 77th edition of the Block Island Race opens for entries\, it might be worth noting that in the last Bermuda Race year in 2022\, 77 boats embarked on the race from Stamford\, Conn.\, on that Friday afternoon in May. This year\, on May 24th at 2 pm\, Storm Trysail Club hopes to see even more entries take on the 186nm adventure. \nStorm Trysail Club offers options for teams looking for practice before the iconic ocean race in June or for local racers looking for a new challenge. Boats can opt to sail ORC or PHRF in the 186nm around Block Island or 136nm down Long Island Sound to Plum Island.

A consortium of global industry professionals gather to mingle with contemporaries\, and the public\, in intimate settings\, such as film screenings\, spotlight programs\, tribute and award ceremonies\, question and answer forums\, and nightly social mixers. \nThere are 5 categories of the filmmaker competition at the Block Island Film Festival: student short films\, short films\, short documentaries\, feature films and feature screenplays.
