Island Bus Tour
“One of the last great places in the western hemisphere.”
–The Nature Conservancy
Step aboard the Block Island Ferry bus for an informative one-hour narrated tour of beautiful Block Island. Sit back, relax and enjoy beautiful ocean vistas while Rob, an island native, entertains you with stories from the early settlers to what it is like to live on the island today.
You will visit Settler’s Rock at the North Lighthouse, where the first settlers landed and then on to New Harbor where you will overlook both the Great Salt Pond and Block Island Sound. After leaving the more commercial area of the island, you will pass through residential areas and learn about the conservation efforts of the islanders.
The tour concludes with a stop at the 125-year old Southeast Lighthouse located atop the Mohegan Bluffs. In a spectacular conservation effort, this lighthouse was moved 300 feet back from the bluffs to keep this antique structure for future generations to enjoy. Your tour ends back in the commercial area of Old Harbor where unique shops await your browsing.
Groups may opt for one of our lunch packages, offered through one of Block Island’s premier and historical hotels, The National Hotel. Located right in the heart of downtown Block Island, enjoy panoramic ocean views of Old Harbor as you enjoy your meal right on the hotel veranda. Groups may select from our standard three course lunch menu of Appetizer, Entrée, and Dessert, or get the full coastal experience with a traditional New England lobster bake.
